The Aurora Group and GiveOUT are delighted to announce that Amplify Pride Fund is the 2024 Australian Philanthropy Awards Community Philanthropy WINNER!

In 2021 in collaboration with our friends GiveOUT, our research report "Where are The Rainbow Resources?" highlighted a pressing issue: the LGBTIQ+ sector receives only 5 cents from every $100 of philanthropic funding. This chronic underfunding has led our sector to primarily operate on volunteer efforts, constrained budgets, and an inability to fully meet the demand for services.

With support from the Snow Foundation, we co-created the Amplify Pride Fund in 2022 to address this gap. The fund provides the LGBTIQ+ sector larger, more sustainable funding and provides philanthropy a tangible opportunity to be a part of the change. We are by community, for community.

On Tuesday the 16th, at the Australian Philanthropy Awards Showcase in Sydney, Amplify Pride Fund received the incredible recognition of being the winner of the Community Philanthropy Award! Thank you to all who made this possible; to Philanthropy Australia and the selection panel (Camille Furtado, Nancy Sposato, Rikki Andrews, Kirra Hampson) for this recognition, to the Snow Foundation whose critical and foundational support has made this possible (Georgina Byron AM, Sally Grimsley-Ballard), The Aurora and GiveOUT Board and team, our other wonderful donors including Paul Ramsay Foundation and Brennan Lynch Foundation, and of course, our incredible grantees. This is all for you!

Join the community! Sign up to our newsletters and stay up to date with Aurora.

We send three different newsletters on a quarterly cycle, you can sign up to the information you want and not worry about getting spam! Our newsletters are: Resource Sharing for LGBTIQ+ Organisations, Information and Updates for Donors, and the Aurora General Newsletter for all your general updates!

We fuel Australian LGBTIQ+ organisations in their work towards equality and better outcomes for the most marginalised people within the LGBTIQ+ community.

Aurora is community-led, and through our grants programs, have provided nearly $2million to grassroots organisations who are addressing the needs of LGBTIQ+ people, and supporting them to build organisational capacity.

Donating to Aurora directly funds LGBTIQ+ charities whose work changes, and often saves, the lives of vulnerable groups in our community.

The Amplify Pride Fund

If we’re serious about achieving true change for LGBTIQ+ communities, we must think and act bigger than ever before!

The Amplify Pride Fund provides change-making LGBTIQ+ community organisations across Australia with larger, more sustainable funding, helping them to thrive and grow.

Where are the Rainbow Resources?

We know LGBTIQ+ communities are underfunded. The “Where are the Rainbow Resources? Understanding the Funding Needs of the LGBTIQ+ Community Sector in Australia©” report, published in 2021 by Aurora Group and GiveOUT, found that LGBTIQ+ community organisations receive just 5 cents out of every $100 donated to Australian charities.

Wow!! What a glamorous and inspiring night we shared! Thank you so much for attending the Aurora Ball 2023 and supporting the important work of funding LGBTIQ+ organisations!
